5. Enroll in CD 895 and Meet Repeatedly with Thesis Advisor to Develop the Project
Most often, thesis students will enroll in CD 895, Thesis Proposal in CSD, in the Summer of Year 1, although the Fall of Year 1 is also an option. Typically, the student meets with their advisor every week or two weeks during this term to develop the project further. During this time, the student may attend lab meetings, be trained on data collection or analysis techniques, or otherwise develop needed knowledge and skills needed for their thesis project. The student works closely with the thesis advisor to select other committee members (readers) and prepares the thesis prospectus document.
