a. Academic Leave
A faculty member may apply for an academic leave of absence for career-related activities or academic study, for a period of up to one year. Examples may include, but are not limited to, participation in a Fulbright program, a faculty exchange, a career development opportunity, specialized training, or a course of academic study.
During an academic leave, faculty members will not receive compensation and benefits from the Mass General Brigham University of Health Professions. An academic leave must be approved by the department chair, dean and the provost. The faculty member is entitled to an equivalent assignment upon return without loss of seniority.
