5.2 Student Progression
The Student Development Committee (SDC) is a standing committee of the PA program responsible for the ongoing review of each student's academic performance, professional development, and progress toward successful completion of the program. The SDC conducts periodic and as-needed reviews to identify academic or professional concerns, monitor student development, and provide guidance and recommendations to the PA ProgramDirector regarding academic standing, progression, remediation, and dismissal.
The PA program has an obligation to evaluate each student's performance throughout enrollment and to ensure that graduates have met the program's academic, professional, and technical standards for entry into clinical practice. Accordingly, the SDC reviews cases in which a student may not be meeting these standards and determines whether additional support, remediation, or other interventions are warranted. The Committee also makes recommendations regarding a student's eligibility to progress through the curriculum and ultimately to complete the program.
