AP12. Use of Simulated Participants/Standardized Patients
Simulated Participants/Standardized Patients (SPs) may be utilized for students to interact with and perform hands-on techniques during practical examinations. The SPs are provided with background information pertaining to the practical case and trained in how to act and what to say during the examination.
In case of last-minute cancellations or sick calls by the SPs faculty, Lab Instructors, and/or staff may fill in and take the place of the SP.
