5.5 Academic Probation
Students whose cumulative GPA falls below 2.0 at the conclusion of a semester will be placed on academic probation for the next semester of enrollment.
Students remain on academic probation until their cumulative GPA reaches 2.0 or higher. Students on probation are expected to demonstrate academic improvement each semester and may be required to meet with their academic advisor, participate in academic support services, or follow an academic improvement plan.
Failure to demonstrate progress toward a cumulative GPA of 2.0 while on probation may result in academic dismissal. In addition, earning a grade below C in a course while on probation may result in academic review and dismissal.
Students who remain below a cumulative GPA of 2.0 after two consecutive semesters on academic probation will be dismissed from the program.
Academic standing is determined using grades posted to the official transcript by the Registrar. Students should be aware that academic probation may affect eligibility for financial aid. Questions regarding financial aid eligibility should be directed to the Office of Financial Aid.
