4.16 Clinical Practicum Attendance and Hour Completion Policy
Students are required to complete a specified number of clinical hours to meet graduation and certification requirements. These hours are accumulated through approved clinical and educational placements, some of which may have site-specific minimums in addition to the overall program requirement.
Regular attendance in clinical practicum is essential — not only for accumulating required hours, but for ensuring continuity of care, optimal client/patient outcomes, and consistent clinical learning. While the program supports students in meeting their hour requirements, absences may still affect the ability to complete them on time.
Make-up hours may be arranged in certain cases; however, this is not guaranteed and depends on the availability of a qualified supervising practitioner, at the discretion of the Clinical Education Director and program leadership.
If a student falls short of the required clinical hours due to absences, they may be required to delay graduation and enroll in an additional practicum course.
Students are expected to communicate proactively with their Program Director, the Clinical Education Director, and the site supervisor about any issues that may interfere with clinical attendance or completing required hours.
