4.7 Attendance Requirements for Onsite Meetings and Synchronous Sessions
Class participation is essential to this program, given its interactive and rigorous nature. Students must attend all classes, clinical seminars, clinical sessions, and synchronous remote sessions, and are expected to arrive on time; consistent attendance and punctuality are considered part of one's professional commitment and conduct. Failure to attend may affect the grade received — see individual course syllabi for the specific attendance policy.
If a student is unable to attend a scheduled class, clinic, or synchronous remote session, they must notify the instructor in advance by email, with a valid reason and the expected length of the absence. Except in extenuating circumstances, failure to notify in advance will result in a lowered grade at the discretion of the instructor. Excused absences are given for acceptable reasons such as emergencies, religious observance, or illness — social events and vacations are not acceptable, and the academic calendar is published well in advance so students can plan around it.
It is the student's responsibility to arrange to complete missed assignments, if applicable.
