4.3 Transfer of Credits
Students may petition to transfer up to 4 graduate credits from another institution toward Program requirements. To be eligible, the course must have been taken at the graduate level, completed within five years of matriculation, and passed with a grade of "B" or better.
Before submitting a petition, the student must speak with the Academic Advisor to determine whether a course qualifies for transfer. The Petition for Course Replacement form, along with supporting documentation (at minimum, a course syllabus and transcript), must be submitted by the end of the student's first semester of enrollment. The petition must be approved by the Program Director and faculty of record. Transfer credits are not calculated into the graduate GPA.
The petition form is available on the Registrar's website under "Important Forms." On faculty's recommendation, the advisor may still require the student to attend the equivalent Mass General Brigham University of Health Professions course, without registering for it, even after transfer credit has been awarded. Before petitioning to waive CD 828 (Teaching Language and Literacy to English Language Learners), candidates must complete the steps in Appendix E, Waiver Process for CD 828.
