4.4 Professional Fitness and Supportive Intervention
Behavioral healthcare requires emotional awareness, professional judgment, and the ability to engage safely and respectfully with others. At times, faculty or clinical supervisors may have concerns about a student’s professional conduct, boundaries, well-being, or readiness for clinical participation.
When concerns arise, the program’s immediate priority is student support and safety. Faculty may initiate conversations with students, provide feedback, recommend additional support, or implement remediation strategies as appropriate. In some situations, temporary removal from clinical activities may be necessary while concerns are addressed.
These processes are intended to support learning, professional development, and safe practice. Persistent or serious concerns may be reviewed in accordance with School and Institute policies.
