3.3 Grade Appeals and Academic Dismissal
Grade appeals, academic progression decisions, and any academic dismissal processes follow the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS) and Institute policies and procedures. Students are encouraged to first discuss concerns with course faculty. If concerns are not resolved, students may follow formal appeal procedures as outlined in the Institute Academic Catalog.
Academic Dismissal
Students who fail to make satisfactory academic progress, fail to meet the conditions of academic probation, or whose academic performance indicates a low likelihood of successful degree completion may be subject to academic dismissal.
Students may be dismissed from the program if any of the following criteria apply:
- Failure to meet the conditions of an academic improvement plan or academic probation.
- Earning a grade below C in a repeated course.
- Accumulating a pattern of unsuccessful course attempts, withdrawals, or other academic performance concerns that indicate a low likelihood of successful degree completion.
- Demonstrating behavior that violates Institute policies or professional standards, including conduct determined to be illegal, unethical, or otherwise inconsistent with the expectations of the program.
