3.5 Leave of Absence and Program Interruption
Students who experience circumstances that interfere with their ability to continue coursework or fieldwork should contact program leadership as early as possible to discuss available options. Requests for a leave of absence or other interruption in enrollment follow Institute and School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences policies.
Students receiving HRSA-funded support should be aware that changes in enrollment status, leaves of absence, or interruptions to participation may affect eligibility for HRSA-funded tuition support and stipends. Program staff can assist students in understanding the academic and funding implications of a leave.
A leave of absence does not guarantee re-entry into the program or placement continuity and may be subject to program capacity, clinical site availability, and funding constraints.
