5.2.3 Cognitive and Academic Abilities
Students must possess sufficient cognitive, academic, and problem-solving abilities to safely and effectively participate in the program and fieldwork experiences.
Students must be able to:
- Understand, retain, and apply information from coursework and training
- Demonstrate basic reading comprehension, writing, and numerical skills
- Complete assignments, documentation, and required learning activities
- Exercise sound judgment in academic and fieldwork settings
- Follow policies, procedures, and safety instructions
- Recognize situations requiring assistance, supervision, escalation, or emergency response
- Maintain attention and concentration sufficient for safe participation in learning and fieldwork activities
- Engage in reflective learning and self-assessment
